Vinx does not copy well-known singers - his art is original and emotional and he perfectly finds himself between the great standards and the present hit soul music. You can hear in his songs a lot of funk, blues, r&b and even bossa nova.  With his musical eloquence and impeccable vocal technique, great sense of rhythm and musical fun, Vinx is the perfect beginning to the festival!
~ Dionizi Piatkowski, President, Era Jazzu

Vinx's music career began in 1978 at Montreux Jazz Festival after Claude Nobs, the Founder of Montreux Jazz Festival, took Taj Mahal to see Vinx's show at the gates of the Festival, where he was playing with his college band. Taj Mahal loved Vinx's performances so much that he invited Vinx to perform on stage with him that night at Montreux Festival.

This was soon followed with a multi-year stadium tour as the SOLO opening act for STING, securing his place in the hearts and minds of fans around the world. VINX is the consummate performer; whether in duet/trio/quartet or leading a full 20 musician big band.

Today, VINX regularly performs his ever evolving concerts in venues ranging from intimate clubs to the biggest stadiums.  When he is able to bring additional guest artists on tour with him, he assembles lineups that speak to the mood of the moment - an innovative jazz trio, romantic voice & piano duets, or an exciting and sophisticated voice and percussion troupe that may even feature a tap dancer.

On tour, Vinx has been fortunate to be able to perform with some of the best musicians in the business: Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Will Calhoun, Doug Wimbish, Reggie Washington, Armand Sabaal Lecco, Alain Mallet, Swiss Chris, Munyungo Jackson, Bill Summers, Angel Figueroa, Mitchell Long, Patrick Dorcean, Cyro Batista, JoJo Mayer, Dave Fiuczynski, Chris Loftlin, Leo Quintero, Joey Heredia, Greg Poree, Keith Jones and many others.
